I’m Scared!!!

I think we can all acknowledge the fact that this year did not start on a good note. From the coronavirus scare, to people dying on the streets of China due to the virus (may their souls rest in peace), to the virus going on a spreading spree or a world tour like some people would say, to some world leaders allegedly using it for political and financial gain *clears throat, to the whole world going on a mandatory and very necessary lockdown/quarantine and adapting to the use of facemasks, hand-sanitizers and staying six-feet-apart from one-another.

Whilst the lockdown has had it pros like the air and seas getting cleaner, the animals being able to move freely without the fear of getting hunted, families that rarely see each other being able to catch up on lost times and being together again, people that spend most of their life working being able to get the necessary rest their body and mind deserves. It also had it cons for people like entrepreneurs whose life income and existence depends on day-to-day transactions, vulnerable people with abusive partners with nowhere to escape, health-workers who have to live in constant fear of contacting the virus while saving lives and many other sad circumstances. These are the times where love, unity and respect was supposed to come in place but as the case may be, we are experiencing the direct opposite of the aforementioned.

It is bad enough that some people are disobedient to the lockdown rules and spreading the coronavirus further, the people who are supposed to be protecting us are killing us, we now live in a world where it is safe to assume that “if a bacteria doesn’t kill you, your own kind will”. Everyday I wake up to more terrifying news than comforting news. From the peaceful-turned-hostile protests in America to the non-stop senseless killings in Africa. This year so far has been so depressing and filled with uncertainties, I can only hope things turn around for good because we only have one home (planet earth) and it is our duty to make it better together.

To wrap it up, I pray those that are depressed, going through difficult times and those that have lost a loved one or love ones find peace and comfort in these horrible horrible times. #weshallovercome #peaceandlove #begracefuu.
